The school year is well underway and so is our drama department’s Christmas play! The fantastic Center Stage group has been busy auditioning, reading lines, deciding on costumes, and working on set for the production of A Christmas Carol. The play will be performed during December for students, parents, friends, and the community. This is a play that you do not want to miss out on! We were able to catch up with Center Stage President, Allison Sortino, to give a better description of the exciting festivities:
What are you most excited about concerning the Christmas play?
“I am most excited about getting to perform this play for the school and community to see and get everyone in the Christmas spirit! I am very excited for everyone to come and see all the hard work we put into the play and have a great time watching it!”
What other projects, besides the play, is Center Stage involved in?
“Besides the play Center Stage goes to competitions such as the Trumbauer theatre competition where individuals compete doing monologues. We also are looking into going to the theatre convention this year to meet other theatre groups and learn and grow in our skills by watching other people perform one act plays, improv, monologues, etc.”
What do you love most about Center Stage?
“What I love most about Center Stage is we really are a family. Ms. Windle is great and loves and cares about each of her students. Over the course of the year everyone becomes close because you all are working together to put on this amazing play and in the end it brings everyone together. You make lots of new friends and memories to look back on and cherish. There really is nothing like it!”
