Friday March 13, 2015, Bevill State Community College held their annual Scholar’s Bowl Tournament. This year there were six schools competing: Lynn, Dora, Addison, Carbon Hill, Cordova, and Walker. After five nail-biting rounds, Cordova took home the title with a 5-0 record, leaving Walker and Lynn to play for 2nd and 3rd (due to a tie of 3-2). Walker won the playoff game and got 2nd place overall. Walker competitors included Amanda Schofield, Sydney Woods, Sam Wells, Anna Hope Blackwell, Jax Kluesner, Luke Johnson, and Aaron Pridemore. Amanda Schofield placed 10th overall in individual points and Jax Kluesner placed 6th. There was an estimated 45 individual competitors. The Walker High School Scholar’s Bowl team brought home a large and shiny 2nd place trophy. It has been placed in the main office for all passers-by to see. The Scholar’s Bowl participants would like to thank Mrs. Lauren Vickery and the time and dedication that she has spent with the team over the past several years.
