At 32 years old, Elizabeth Gilbert was living the dream. She had a wonderful husband, a nice house, and a successful career as a writer. She then finds that she was unhappy in her marriage and declared a divorce. After finalizing the divorce, she planned to travel the world for a year. In Italy she enjoys eating and enjoying life, in India she finds her spirituality, and in Bali, Indonesia, she finds her balance for love, where she falls in love with a Brazilian man. The experiences have taught her how to love life once again and find balance between worldly enjoyment and divine transcendence.
I would recommend this book to anyone. The book is full of adventure and Gilbert’s story as a modern American woman, is one that many people can relate to, which involves recovering from a tragic heartbreak. She shares her amazing journey and experiences from the diverse cultures by traveling Italy, India, and Bali, which many people would dream to experience. Her experience is very inspiring and I highly enjoyed the book.
