to know her through the following questions:
What class or classes do you teach?
English 10 and 11. But I have taught all grade levels.
How long have you taught at Walker?
What made you decide to be a teacher?
I always liked helping people, but when I was in college I had several friends who were
struggling with reading and writing. So I began helping them and realized I was very good at it.
So I decided to go to college for a degree in English.
What makes your job rewarding?
When I finally see a student grasp a concept they have been struggling with.
How is learning personalized in your classroom?
I work with all my students one on one and get to know each one on a personal level.
How do you use technology in your classroom?
For student centered research. I also use resources that the students will use again in college.
What has been your best experience at Walker?
Well it is where I met my husband. (He is a former teacher.) But also getting known so many
students and watching them grow and mature.
What is your most embarrassing moment as a
When Todd Homan ate a bug in my classroom, after another student had told him he would
pay him a dollar. I kept telling him it was very unsanitary, but he ate it anyway.
