Gordon Studdard, a senior at Walker, did not spend his summer sitting around the house. This previous summer Studdard was a rafting guide on the Ocoee River in Polk Tennessee. Studdard spent the proximity of his summer on the Ocoee River guiding thrill seekers down whitewater rapids that ranged from class II to class IV. Studdard spent three months’ worth of training on the river before he became a certified guide. One of the rigorous training exercises that Studdard faced included swimming down the ice cold rapids (which is essential for being a rafting guide).Studdard said he would love to go back and be a guide again if he got the opportunity.
He also mentioned that he is loving his senior year. Studdard said, “I can’t wait to see what else is in store for me and Go Vikes!”
