Summer is right around the corner. I know all we have on our minds is hanging out with our friends, but in case you were looking to expand your mind this summer, here are some great literary options for you.
The Great Gatsby is narrated by main character, Nick Carraway. The story tells of a missed opportunity for love and a heart wrenching plot. May not sound so enjoyable, but it’s definitely not one to pass up. If you’re looking to expand your classic library, this is the place to start. It’s easy to read and doesn’t actually make you want to fall asleep.
Perks Of Being A Wall:
Perks of Being a Wallflower is a book any teenager will enjoy. It intertwines a love story with day to day typical teen hardships. This book has also recently been turned into a movie, so once you’re done with this quick read, have a movie night.
Into The Wild:
Into The Wild is by far one of the best books I’ve ever read. It tells of Alex, the main character, who sets out into the Alaskan wilderness in such of himself and being more in tune with nature. The book tells of this journey and offers you insight into his own personal hardships along the way. Trust me when I say, this book is enjoyable for anyone. It’s an easy read that brings forth long lasting moral effects.
