The Walker Viking football started off their Spring Training April 25th with rattling hits and impressive ability. Coming off a great year in the weight room, the Vikings showed off their new team to multiple college scouts from different states in the south. Among the new faces on the field were Coach Rice, the defensive corner instructor, Coach Courington, the new defensive line instructor, and Coach Gilbert, the defensive safety instructor. Austin Mansell and Jaquan Crook, both starters the previous season, will lead the Viking defense this year from the backfield and the line. Bryant Atkins, the freshman who surprised the team last season, will return to lead the offense as quarterback. These changes in the coaching staff and the experienced upcoming players show a promising season for the 2013 Vikings.
