Picking up trash, doing all your work and just being a good student are few ways to be nominated for Student of the Quarter. Student of the Quarter is a Walker High School based assembly that is held every 9 weeks to acknowledge certain students for being a “helping hand” around Walker. The students are chosen by any teacher throughout the school year and those students are welcomed on stage when the assembly is held. The selected students from each grade level go up on stage when their name is called and receive a bag of candy. After everyone from that grade level is on stage a single Student of the Quarter from that grade is chosen.
After the assembly is over, the students nominated are offered the opportunity to go to the cafeteria and have a Jack’s biscuit and a drink. These refreshments always help in persuading the students around school to do better, because who wouldn’t want a biscuit form Jack’s?!
