On Wednesday, October 18th, several juniors from Walker High School attended the Walker County Youth Leadership program at the CHS Building, in Jasper. The students got to meet and interact with several other juniors throughout the county. All the students were given a color team, so they will be able compete against each other throughout the year in many different activities. The students learned about different personalities and social skills in many of the activities that day.
One activity was based on leadership skills; all the students had to stand on top of a big tarp and flip it over without anyone stepping off of it. The students said it was a challenging, but a very fun activity. Another one of the many activities they did was based on responsibility; each group was assigned an egg for the whole day and had to keep it without breaking or losing it. The students who attended from Walker said they really enjoyed being together and working as a team.
The Walker High School Youth Leadership students are: Cody Brown, Sidney Cooper, Chandler Crump, Morgan Dodd, Dalton Doss, Carolina Grace, Rob Green, Peyton Gregory, Savannah Hall, Alyssa Knight, Caroline McKellar, Meg McKellar, Brandi McNeely, Macee O’Rear, Alexandra Page, Madison Redmill, Jacob Runyan, Ned Sanders, Nellie Stallsmith, Charles Tatum, Allison Tucker, Sarah Warren, and Kalei Woodley.
