For a couple years now, Mrs. Wright’s class has been attending a program called EASI. EASI is a therapeutic riding program. The letters stand for Equestrians Assisting Special Individuals. The program is an eight week session twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall. EASI helps special needs students learn pre-vocational skills as well as letting them ride horses.
EASI has recently been developing a sensory trail. The trail will help with all of the five senses. What will happen is the students will come to a bird house on the trail and open it. In one of the bird houses there are animals and the floors are painted different colors; the students will have to match the animal to its color so, that particular bird house would help with sight. Mrs. Wright’s class painted all the bird houses for the new sensory trail. Her students are donating these bird houses to EASI because; they are so thankful for all EASI has done for them and want to give back to their community.
