This week we are shining the spotlight on a senior tennis player Kelsey Woodman.
Woodman: We follow a specific warm-up. We always try to stay loose and relaxed until it is time to play.
Q: How do you prepare physically before a game?
Woodman: I always eat a banana and hydrate well before I play.
Q: What is the best part of your game?
Woodman: My serve and my backhand.
Q: Do you feel that you hold an advantage when playing at your home tennis courts?
Woodman: Yes, because I feel very comfortable at our courts and I’m not worried about something negative happening that I can’t control, like a messed up net.
Q: How do you celebrate after a big win?
Woodman: We break it down and go eat at Perico’s.
Q: What do you aspire to achieve?
Woodman: I hope for us to win the state championship since it’s my last year at Walker.
Q: What do you like the most about being a senior on the tennis team?
Woodman: It’s not as intimidating in practice since I have been around the program. I am more confident in my abilities than I was as an underclassman.
Q: What plans do you have after high school?
Woodman: I plan on attending the University of North Alabama and pursuing a law degree.
