Hoover Invitational Marching Band Festival
Walker High School Viking Band competed Saturday in the Hoover Invitational Marching Band Festival, located in Hoover’s Region Field. The Competition consisted of more than twenty of the finest high school bands from Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi. The Viking Band competed in the most populated class, class AA. School bands in this division included Pleasant Grove High School, Itawamba High School, Southside High School, South Jones High School, Spain Park High School, an Oak Grove High School. Walker put on a great show achieving superior scores in drum major, percussion, and band. They finished second overall in their class behind Oak Grove. Walker High School Band has competed in two competitions and one exhibition this year. They have received outstanding scores at each, finishing first at Pell City and second at Hoover. Walker High School students, faculty and fans are extremely proud of the WHS band’s hard work and achievements. We look forward to seeing the band grow and its future success.
