Next Saturday, April 30th, five Walker High School students will be participating in a Chef Contest.
The contest will be held in Mrs. Lockett’s rooms on third hall, rooms 29 and 30. Judges for Saturday’s contest will be Ben McLain, the preacher at New Prospect Baptist, Bryan Hale from the Daily Mountain Eagle, and Coach Hobson. The contestants must be at the school no later than 8:00 on Saturday morning and judging begins at 10:00. This event is open to the public and spectators can arrive at 9:30 am and admission is only $1.00.
The students participating in this event are Ryan Moore, Julia Tyrer, Marissa Waid, Brittany James, and Kristen Kinler. Mrs. Lockett, the Home Economics teacher is excited about this event and says that there are more to come.
She said “We are planning to have a tasting fair in the fall!” She also added that she wants to plan an activity for every semester.
