The iPod Touches and Poetry combined?
By: Paige Sanford
The library has recently received a complete iPod Touch lab for classrooms to use. These iPod touches are the latest model and they are loaded with lots of apps for students to use in their classes. The iPod Touch lab is available for teachers to reserve to use with their students and the programs that are loaded onto the devices will work with many different subjects.
Most of you probably have played with an iPod Touch or something similar, as for me this was my first time. It was pretty interesting and to top it off it had a poetry app! If any of you out there, know me (Paige Sanford) you would probably note I am a poetry freak!
I believe even people who do not really care for poetry would enjoy trying to piece some together using this app. You see, a group of words are listed at the bottom. Choose what you like or click the icon in the lower right hand corner for a new set of words.
Instant Poetry App is a good way, in my opinion, to get people motivated to write poetry. You make small poems or “refrigerator poems” and kind of work up from there until your poems are getting more length to them.
If you have an iPod Touch, and an English Class, I’d suggest the Instant Poetry App. I know my English teacher was impressed with the poem I created using this app. Even if you do not use this app for English class, then maybe use it as a way to fight boredom. Poetry is a deep way to express yourself, and I’m sure you’d enjoy it if you tried it and no better way to try it then using Instant Poetry!
The Poem I wrote using the iPod Touch..
My Instant Poem
By Paige Sanford
You laugh last
You’re the outcast
The night is whining
A radiant girl with wonder
Left alone with memories to plunder
The secret lost
What did the secret cost
She whispered farewell
To the darling nightingale
