“Shake n Bake!” was the quote used by Walker Track Athletes Bradford Lepik and Andrew Harris when asked about qualifying for the State Track meet. Hard work and determination is what is driving this very talented Walker Vikings Track Team, and it has brought them to the destination they have been working for this whole season. From qualifying from sectionals, the boys 4×8 team are currently seeded number 1 and ran the fastest time in 5A. Andrew Harris is seeded number one in the state meet and also is ranked number one in 5A 800m. Also, Joe Grace is ranked number 3, and seeded number two in the Javelin.
Caroline Rector is also seeded high in high jump, and the girls 4×8 team is also very solid. The Boys finished 4th in the Section Meet, with only 6 participants, which is a very good achievement. Overall, the Walker Vikings Track Team are expecting a few medals, and a very good finish for this year’s State Track Meet. The meet will be held on Friday and Saturday, April 30 – May 1, in Gulf Shores.
