The tragic earthquake in Haiti has left many people in distress. The Career and Technical Education department sponsors, including Ms. Lockett, Mrs. Davis, and Mrs. Lyle here at Walker High School, decided to organize a fundraiser to help in the relief for Haiti. The fundraiser was called “Change for Haiti”. FCCLA, HOSA, and FBLA had set it up so that students, faculty and staff could donate their change in all of the classrooms. The clubs raised over $130. FCCLA treasurer Kayla Hartley said “FCCLA had a lot of donations, especially compared to other clubs that participated in Haiti relief efforts.” FCCLA sponsor, Ms. Lockett; president, Brittany Clopton; treasurer Kayla Hartley; and member, Jasmine Farris were all present on March 26, 2010 to deliver the check to the Walker County Red Cross.
