On March 9th Mr. Cordle’s English 12 class dressed up as characters from The Canterbury Tales. This is a yearly tradition in his class, his students have been participating in this project for the past five years.
The Canterbury Tales were written by Geoffrey Chaucer. He began writing the tales in 1387 but never completed it. There are 29 characters the class chose from such as: The Knight, The Squire, The Nun Prioress, The Yeoman, The Oxford Cleric, and many more.
Mr. Cordle commented on the tales and said “The Squire is my favorite because he was a loyal servant and always tried to impress the ladies.” He also said that he hoped the students gained a personal experience and creativity of bringing the characters to life.
