The Walker High School soccer team competed in the Indian Classic Tournament on Friday and Saturday. They placed second out of six teams. They beat Ardmore 9-1 and Madison Academy 3-2. They lost to East Limestone 2-0, a team they had already beaten in regular season.
After scoring five goals, David Osula won the Golden Boot Award for scoring the most goals in the entire tournament. Joseph Pedraza, Nick Honeycutt, and Josh Dill all scored two goals, and Hayes Turner scored one. Brandon Ruble had three notable assists.
The defense also played very well. Coach Dill was said, “The whole defense played as a unit. Matt Kennedy made several key saves, including one penalty kick to keep us in the game in the championship match.”
