Nine members of Walker’s Center Stage club and Mrs. Brown went to the Alabama State Thespian Conference on Friday 26, 2010. The conference was held at Florence High School and lasted from Friday to Sunday morning. There were over 600 people from all over Alabama who attended the conference. At the conference, there were a variety of workshops, fantastic plays, exciting competitions, and many more. Below are a few things some of our Walker attendees liked about the conference.
Rachel Pickering- “I thought the character development class was very beneficial, and it taught me a lot.”
Matthew Liebe- “I especially enjoyed the “Choreograph Fight Scenes and Stage Combat” workshop.”
Alexis Johnson- “I liked the one act plays.”
Faith McMillian- “I liked the fact that I was surrounded by people with the same interests as me.”
Rachel Hudson- “I enjoyed the Shakespeare abridge plays.”
The members would also recommend anyone who is interested in acting to audition for Center Stage this May. They advised everyone to just let loose, don’t worry too much, and have fun at the audition. In conclusion, the members thought the conference helped the group to grow closer and improve their stage performance. They hope many other can go next year and experience all the wonderful things the conference offers.
