“Have You Thought About…”

          Have you thought about why only certain colored clothes match? Most people don’t consider why only specific outfits go together and don’t take into consideration their own opinion. Why does a navy shirt and navy shorts not match? Why can a brown coat, a blue tie, a yellow shirt, black pants, and olive shoes not make a statement?

Society today holds high opinions as to what matches and what doesn’t. Media such as magazines, TV, and fashion shows create statements to influence others to follow their fashion and dress according to their opinion.  When getting dressed, people take careful consideration into their outfits to ensure they look their best and avoid being ridiculed for their “taste” in fashion. You wouldn’t want to match a navy shirt with navy shorts. Why not? They are the same color! Who is to say they can’t go together. Media today builds society up to high standards such as designer Coach bags and UGG boots. Society is becoming less and less individualized and, instead, following the crowd to impress others.
